I’ve been to Germany more than 10 times, and I think it’s one of the most fascinating countries in the world.

Is COLOGNE the Best City in GERMANY?

Big Hallo from #Germany! I LOVE this country!

It's my 8th time here, but my very first time in Cologne, and I've had a wonderful time exploring this city over the last 3 days… Cologne might be my favorite city in Germany (so far) because it has all the elements of a big city (huge pedestrian/shopping boulevards, efficient metro system, late-night bars, big city squares, etc), BUT it also has the friendliest, most open-minded Germans I've met, and everything feels quite relaxed here. Lots of outdoor cafes, parks, colorful neighborhoods, delicious restaurants, incredible Gothic-style architecture (Cologne Cathedral!), people hanging by the river, and of course, the KΓΆlsch beer is flowing like water!

If you've been to Germany, what's your favorite city here? If you haven't been yet, what's your favorite thing about Germany culture?

Stuttgart Beer Fest… Better Than Oktoberfest?!

Yesterday, I attended the World's 2nd Biggest BEER FESTIVAL, and the craziest party of my life.. and it wasn't called Oktoberfest!!!

It's called Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart, Germany — and trust me, it's better than Oktoberfest because it's WAY less touristy, less expensive but the same amount of fun! My girlfriend, Deanna, and my local friend, Markus, sat together at a table with 10 local German girls, who were in full spirit dressed in dirndls (and we had our lederhosen on!)

In all honesty, I wasn't expecting that much from this festival… and I stumbled out of that tent yesterday night in complete shock by how insane the day was! The best part was that I was surrounded by 90% Germans, and very few tourists (I currently have German Folk Songs stuck in my head…)

Have you ever heard of Volksfest in Stuttgart? Or been to Oktoberfest, or any other autumn beer drinking festival? Please share your thoughts!

Dresden: From Destroyed to Deluxe

DID YOU KNOW that 85% of Dresden's old (inner) city was completely destroyed from Feb 13-15, 1945? When I say completely destroyed… I mean it. The entire city was wiped out by 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs, killing some 25,000 people and leaving very few buildings left in town.

Fast forward to 2017, and the city is THRIVING with so much life and energy (to say the least!). The city has virtually been rebuilt from the ground up, but still holding onto its historical and authentic elements that were apparent before 1945. It's truly an amazing place to visit, with loads of things fun happening around town, windy cobblestoned alleyways to explore, beer-drinking bars on every corner and delicious sauerbraten to be eaten!

Have you ever been to #Dresden? If not, put it on your list!
